finding a mentor.....

Patrick Bae: i thought the quality was more important than anything

Chris: No - just perceived quality.

Chris: One of the things I'm thinking a lot about now is how to measure true quality.

Patrick Bae: yeah.. it's very hard to measure true quality

Chris: I agree.

Patrick Bae: also, everyone has different perspectives on "true" quality

Chris: Well, some groups are working very hard to formalize what's quality versus what's crap. I think NDepends is a tool that uses a lot of the best ideas in the industry to attempt to discern quality code. It's a wonderful tool, but ask around and see who around here truly understands how it works, what its metrics mean, and why they indicate good code.

Chris: When you get a good answer from someone, that's a person you can learn from.

Patrick Bae: wow... that's the best thing i've ever heard at smc
