Today, as I practiced/played "Sitting... Waiting... Wishing" that's on Jack Johnson's 3rd album "In Between Dreams", I felt the need to replace my guitar. What guitar do I use? I still use $150 Fender accoustic that I bought back in 2000. I'm surprised that it still sounds like a "guitar".
I went to the Jack Johnson website and searched for posts that talk about what type of guitar Jack uses. Because the next guitar I buy, hopefully soon, will be the exact same guitar Jack plays. And for my own convenience and for any visitors to my blog, I will make a short summary here on which instruments Jack plays.
For his MTV Unplugged performce, Jack used Cole Clark FL2. ($1399)
For his On and On album, Jack used Maton ECW80C (or CW80). ($1954)
(Or Maton M225 is only $699... yeah, I'd be happy with M225)
I will add more as I find out. I'm sure he uses more than above 2 guitars.
I can't believe I'm so deep into Jack Johnson these days... He definitely changed something in me in past few months. My life at 26 years old, 2004... the year I was introduced to Jack Johnson's music, will definitely be a turning point for something large to come in the future.
